This weeks question: "When you read a book that you just can't get into, do you stick it out and keep reading or do you move onto the next title?"
There was a great post about this very topic over at Greenbeanteenqueen. I try and stick with reading it I usually give it at least 100 pages-sometimes more. I feel guilty when I put a book down, but sometimes it's just not right for me.

This is a tough one, I'm way behind in reading my to-read-pile, just steadily watching it grow. Here's a picture book that I discovered this week. I love the twist in the story and the illustrations are lovely. I believe that you're never too old to enjoy a picture book and I can't wait to use this one at Story time.

That book looks really cute. I'm going to have to check that out. Oh, and I work with Sarah at Greenbeanteenqueen. She's wonderful with her reviews and is always very honest. I consider her literally the queen of YA. If I need a recommendation I'll go to her. She is actually the person I am most nervous about reading my book.

ReplyDeleteI usually stick books out, even if it annoys me like crazy. I like giving fair chances to books, and I feel incomplete if I don’t finish it. I’ve even stuck it through an entire series I absolutely hated. Maybe it’s just me being weird.

ReplyDeleteYou're a more patient reader than I am - I give a book about 50 pages, if I'm feeling generous :) My TBR mountain chain is too huge to waste time on books I don't like.

I give a book 100 pages before putting it down, but then I always pick it up again a couple of months later.
