It's Friday (almost) which means it's time for a little hopping! The Friday Follow is hosted by Parajunkee's View.
This week's question: Do you have any hobbies besides reading/blogging?
I love to sing. I don't sing professionally, although I did sing in the chorus of the local Opera company (once). I mostly sing in my children's programs at the library and around the house. It's truly one of my favourite things and brings me lots of joy!
What about you?
The blogger hop is hosted by Crazy for Books. This week's question: What popular and hyped up book in the "blogosphere" did you not enjoy and how did you feel aboutposting your review.
I was really excited to read The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Everyone had been talking about it, so when my 'adult' book club chose it I was jazzed. I only made it 100 pages in though and gave up. It just couldn't hold my interest. I didn't post a review however, as I didn't finish the book.
Hopping through. I love singing too, but only where other people can't be. I can carry a tune, but that's about it.

Following through Follow friday! Return the favor?

Saying hi! I can't believe you didn't finish that book! I'm surprised. I haven't read it, but I loved the film - even in subtitles!
ReplyDeleteHope you come by and see my answer!
I didn't like the book either but I did finish it. I posted a review a couple months ago.
ReplyDeleteMy tastes are so eclectic I'm not usually reading popular fiction while it's still popular. You can my full answer here. Happy Blog Hop.
I own the girl with the dragon tattoo but I haven't read it yet, I'm waiting for the hype to die down but with the new movie being made I doubt that'll happen anytime soon! I definitely want to try reading it before I see the film though.

Mm mm singing! Opera is pretty tough so props to you~~
ReplyDeleteI haven't picked up Girl with a Dragon Tattoo since it's not in a genre I normally read. Other people in the house have read it though and seem to enjoy it.
Stopping by from Follow Friday and am your newest follower~~

I like singing, though it is mostly a private affair. I'm also keen on photography -- I like visiting cities' downtowns and taking pictures of historic architecture -- and PC games.
ReplyDeleteHi! just stopping by on the hop and Follow Friday. I'm nervous about reading Girl with the Dragon Tattoo-everyone's been raving about it but it doesn't seem like the type of book I would normally like to read.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great weekend :)

Hopping by on a very cold fri morn.
ReplyDeleteI personally do not add reviews for books I do not like. I wouldnt know what to say and I wouldnt want to put others off reading it.

I just did not fancy this book at all, even with all the hype.
ReplyDeleteHere via your Blog Hopper link :)

ReplyDeleteHi There!
ReplyDeleteI'm an old follower dropping by to say hi! I love singing also, but I'm not in your category :) Christmas is my favorite time of year because I get to sing all the time!
I wish I had a singing voice! When I sing I sound like a dying giraffe or something. But I still like to sing anyway, especially in the car. :)
ReplyDeleteFound your blog through FF, and am really looking forward to your future posts. If you have time, check out my blog! Have a great weekend!

I made it through the first two books but mostly because I felt obliged by the hype! I haven't been able to bring myself to read the third - there are too many books out there I know I'll enjoy more!
ReplyDeleteIt's sad that you didn't enjoy The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo as much as I did but it really shows that to love or hate a book depends on a readers preference. It's always a must to remain honest in reviews regardless of the outcome.
ReplyDeleteDropping by from the hop. Visit me at Clandestine Sanctuary to know my answer. I am an old follower. :)
Have a great weekend.
Hopping by! I always wanted to be able to sing! I haven't read the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, yet. I started to read the first page and I'm not quite sure what to think about it. I'll probably get around to reading some more eventually. I've heard the Swedish movie is really good. Have a great weekend :)
ReplyDeleteHey, just hopping by. I've always wanted to be able to sing, or at least have the confidence to sing in front of people. I like to think that I'm not too bad... :L Actually, I'm awful. Anyway, have a nice weekend!
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower by the way =] Would love if you could return the favour!

The Dragon Tattoo is a great answer, I also only got to about 100 pages and said I will try again but I have finally decided I won't be reading that series.
