Did anyone else find making this list very difficult?
Instead of explaining each one, I'll just say that all of the books above impacted me in a major way at various points through the years....many I wish I would have had to turn to when I was a teen. Each book above represents a stage and a point in my life and there were so many things I learned from reading those books. Books are powerful. I wonder if the authors really Truly know what their work, their words mean to us...
Such a fabulous list, Jen! I completely agree with Perks of Being a Wallflower. I know if I read this book as a teen it would have changed me SO much. It already has as an adult... it's just so completely awe inspiring.
ReplyDeleteA good list. I have been seeing The perks of Being a Wallflower on many list today and need to read this one.
ReplyDeletePerks of being a Wallflower would be number 1 on my list as well as 13 Reasons Why, I read it a while back but now I am listening to it on audio, WOW, listening to it makes it sooo much more real!!
ReplyDeleteI think my biggest challenge was not just making a list of books that I love, but books that would impact a teen. I love Crime and Punishment, but I know that most teens would not. It was challenging, but I really enjoyed the process.
ReplyDeleteI agree that it was hard to pick out which books would be best. I love your choices!

ReplyDeleteI think The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night would be a great pick for analysis because: a) it's not strictly YA, b) the protagonist is a teenager, anyway, and c) it's pretty good!
Great list! I love seeing Plain Kate on it--I just finished this morning and I still am speechless about it!
